Civic Push Consulting was founded in 2019 by Jeff Kipp, a leading advocate for urban revitalization in Cleveland. The company provides valuable services to organizations and small companies seeking capacity support in the areas of marketing, communications and economic development.
ABOUT JEFF
For over 20 years, Jeff Kipp has worked within Cleveland’s nationally recognized community development system - promoting Cleveland’s neighborhoods and the revitalization that is making the city stronger and more vibrant. From foreclosure recovery and catalytic development to climate resiliency and racial equity, Jeff has been a leader in informing the community about the many important issues impacting the City of Cleveland and northeast Ohio.
Jeff resides in Cleveland's Old Brooklyn neighborhood with his wife and two daughters. He was a founding Board member of The Land, a local nonprofit news organization that reports on Cleveland’s neighborhoods, and served as President of the Board in 2022 and 2023. He is a former board member of Greater Cleveland Community Shares and Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation, where he also served as President. Additionally, Jeff has served on the Community Advisory Boards for University Hospitals' Rainbow Center for Women & Children and iHeart Media. He frequently volunteers in the city's neighborhoods, at his children's schools and within Cleveland's community development system.
A native northeast Ohioan and 20+ year city resident, Jeff maintains a personal and professional mission to contribute to the revitalization of urban neighborhoods.
EXPERIENCE
After leading the Living in Cleveland Center for 14 years as its Executive Director, Jeff worked with partners to complete an important merger of three organizations combining to form Cleveland Neighborhood Progress in 2013. For six years, he served as the Director of Neighborhood Marketing for that community development intermediary and led its innovative marketing and communications agenda. He continues to be recognized as an industry leader in developing marketing capacity within organizations.
Jeff was the founder and creator of the LiveCleveland! neighborhood marketing campaign and has played a role in creating City Life magazine, Cleveland Chain Reaction, Cleveland City Life tours, the Vibrant City Awards and numerous other efforts in neighborhood promotions and economic development. He has also represented Cleveland and its neighborhoods in front of local, regional, national, and international audiences.
Having spent two decades promoting the livability of Cleveland's neighborhoods, Jeff has been very involved in community efforts surrounding talent attraction and retention in the region. From 2022 - 2024, Jeff served as Project Manager at Executive Arrangements, the leading firm positioning Greater Cleveland and Akron as a top destination of choice for job candidates during the recruitment and relocation process. There, he worked directly with job candidates and new hires for Cleveland's largest employers.
EDUCATION
Jeff holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Dayton and a Masters in Social Work (Macro practice; non-profit management) from Cleveland State University. He is also a graduate and former facilitator of the Neighborhood Leadership Cleveland program and has completed Phase I Racial Equity & Inclusion training.
